India's Laxita Sandila (women's 1500m) and the women's 4*400m relay team clinched gold medals in respective events at the Asian U-20 Athletic Championships 2023. On the other hand, Shivaji Parashu (men's 5000m) and 4x400m men's relay team bagged silver medals while Mehdi Hassan (men's 1500m) bagged the bronze medal and finished India's campaign on a positive note.

After the end of four days, India finish the tournament on the third spot claiming 19 medals overall (gold – 6, silver – 7, and bronze – 6). Japan occupied the top spot with 23 medals followed by China with 19 (China finished ahead of India as they had superior gold medal count; 11).

Laxita Vinod Sandila started the day on a positive note clocking her personal best time of 4:24:23 in women's 1500m. The women's 4*400m relay team soon followed her to clinch gold by clocking 3:40.50. Young sensation Rezoana Heena Mallick was part of the relay team and bagged her third medal overall at the junior continental meet.

The Indian men's 4*400m relay team clocked 3:08.78 to clinch the silver medal. They were in touching distance to clinch the top spot but Thailand surged ahead to take gold medal. In the women's 200m, Nayana Kokare clocked 24.53 seconds and finished fourth missing out on the bronze medal. Shivaji Parasu and Medi Hassan but up clinical performances and concluded India's campaign at the Asian U-20 Athletic Championships.
